We are proud to announce that nominations for the WES Awards 2025 are now officially open and we hope you will consider nominating. The awards honour individuals and allies who are making a significant impact on diversity, inclusion, and excellence in engineering and applied sciences. Nominations are open until the 22nd September and more information is available at www.wes.org.uk.
WES Awards promise to showcase the best of innovation, allyship, and leadership across the sector but we need your help so please consider nominating.
2025 Award categories include:
- Karen Burt Memorial Award – recognising excellence and potential in newly Chartered engineers.
- Men as Allies Award – honouring male professionals going above and beyond to support female colleagues and challenge gender imbalance.
- Best Newly Incorporated Engineer Award – celebrating new Incorporated Engineers showing excellence and impact.
- Best Newly Registered Engineering Technician Award – recognising exceptional newly registered Engineering Technicians.
- Isabel Hardwich Medal – for outstanding, sustained contribution to the Women’s Engineering Society.
- Gillian Skinner Award – recognising committed individuals making a difference nationally or within local WES clusters.
- Amy Johnson Inspiration Award – celebrating a non-engineer who has made a remarkable contribution to diversity in engineering.
Winners will be celebrated at the Caroline Haslett Lecture and Awards Ceremony on the 16th December.
