Susan McDonald

Award-winning Electrical and Mechanical Engineer and with over 15 years’ experience in the Power, Utilities, and Renewables sector.

Susan is an influential leader in the two defining challenges of our time – energy transition for net zero (2024 Novi STEM Leader of the Year,  2023 MCA Experienced Leader Award, 2023 MCA Change and Transformation Project Award, 2017 WES Top 50 Women in Engineering, and Management Today’s 35 Women under 35), and the response to Covid (2022 NHS WISE Unsung Hero Community Champion Award and 2021 TechWomen 100).

She is a passionate advocate for promoting careers in engineering and technology in her role as a Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering ambassador, member of The Institution of Engineering and Technology, and as Trustee and Board member of the Women’s Engineering Society.

Susan is helping to chart a path to climate and nature resilient growth, and better futures for all, through her role at Deloitte and non-Executive role at The James Hutton Institute.
