The WES Student Online Careers Event, is taking place on Tuesday 4 November 2025 via Zoom.
This annual event is designed to connect students and early-career engineers with leading employers, industry experts, and peers from across the engineering community. With a packed schedule of inspiring talks, career advice, and live networking opportunities, it’s the perfect opportunity to explore your future in engineering.
What to Expect
The virtual exhibition opens at 9:00am, giving attendees the chance to visit exhibitor stands and chat directly with recruiters.
At 10:00am, the event officially begins with an Opening Talk on Careers Advice featuring Paula McMahon, followed by a live Q&A session.
Throughout the day, attendees can take part in technical presentations, workshops, and networking breaks, including:
- 11:00 – 11:20 | The Future of Underwater Technology – Sonardyne
- 11:30 – 11:50 | Innovation in Motion Control – Moog
- 12:00 – 12:30 | CV Writing Workshop – WES Early Careers Board
- 13:30 – 14:00 | Silver Sponsor Q&A and Technical Talk – Moog
- 14:10 – 14:30 | Engineering the Future – Caterpillar
- 15:00 – 15:20 | Working at the Forefront of Engineering, Science and Technology – AWE
- 15:20 – 15:50 | Keynote: My Journey into Engineering – A panel of young engineers sharing how they started out, their current roles, and advice for students, followed by an open Q&A.
The event will close with final remarks at 15:50, and all resources will remain available online for six months after the event — giving attendees plenty of time to revisit talks and explore exhibitor information.
