One Hundredth WES AGM

The One Hundredth Annual General Meeting of the Women's Engineering Society will be held at the Copthorne Hotel, Paradise Circus, Paradise Place, Birmingham B3 3HJ on Saturday 19 October 2019 at 14:00 hrs.

Only fully paid up Members can attend.  Please inform Cath Heslop at info@wes.org.uk if you are planning to attend.

Caroline Haslett Lecture and Awards Ceremony

The event will take place the evening of Wednesday 30 October in central London.

This year we are honoured to have Dr Anne Stevens take the lecture; one of the most prestigious and highest-ranking female engineers in the world.

The Graduate Engineer Show / The Apprentice Engineer Show

The event, held at the award-winning Roundhouse in Derby, builds on the success of the well-established, The Graduate Engineer Show and welcomes the UK’s most prestigious employers as exhibitors, including Airbus, Rolls-Royce, Jaguar Land Rover, JCB, BAE Systems, Toyota, Thales, The Army, The RAF, Hitachi Rail Europe and many, many more who are looking for their next generation of engineering talent.

There will be lots of fun things to do on the day including simulators, a virtual reality zone, competitions and a packed presentation agenda.

Succeeding in STEM

Come and hear a lively panel discussion featuring three women from the Open University’s STEM Faculty who have recently been promoted to professor. With Professor Josie Fraser in the chair, our panellists, Sally Jordan, Clem Herman and Carol Morris, will talk about their unique and somewhat unconventional career paths. They will discuss all things women and STEM, including top tips for success, how to overcome stereotype threat and imposter syndrome, and their vision of the future for women and STEM at the OU.
