WES launches Student & Apprentice Poster Competition to celebrate emerging engineering talent

The Women’s Engineering Society (WES) is inviting women studying engineering across the UK to enter its new Student & Apprentice Poster Competition, celebrating the creativity, innovation and technical excellence of the next generation of engineers. The competition opens on the 30th October and will close for entries on the 11th January.

The competition offers undergraduate, postgraduate and degree-apprenticeship students the opportunity to showcase their engineering projects to a professional audience at the WES Annual Conference, gain feedback from industry leaders and academics, and connect with the wider engineering community.

Entries are welcomed from a broad range of engineering projects, including research, design, manufacturing, sustainability and practical solutions to real-world challenges.

Finalists will receive complimentary one-day access to the WES Annual Conference, professional poster printing, a WES Certificate of Achievement and the opportunity to present their work during a dedicated poster session at the Conference being held in Manchester in April. Winners will additionally receive a £100 Amazon voucher and an engineering-related book.

The competition is open to women studying engineering at a UK institution, including undergraduate, postgraduate and degree-apprenticeship students, whether studying full-time or part-time.

How to enter

Entrants must submit a poster using the official WES A1 template, alongside a project summary of no more than 300 words.

Download the template and find out more here. The deadline for entries is the 11th January.

WES encourages universities, apprenticeship providers and employers to share this opportunity with eligible students and help celebrate the engineers shaping our future.
