WES Awards 2025 Winners Announced

Held at The Geological Society, the evening honoured the legacy of Caroline Haslett and celebrated the extraordinary impact of engineers who are shaping a more inclusive and innovative future. Caroline’s belief in engineering as a force for opportunity continues to guide our mission today.

We were proud to welcome Prof. Edward Rochead as the first ally to deliver the Caroline Haslett Lecture, reminding us: “Let’s not witness history, let’s shape it.” A powerful message as we look ahead to the new year and the 2026 theme of Engineering Intelligence.

We were delighted to recognise this year’s award winners:
🏆 Karen Burt Award – Juliette Goddard
🏆 Isabel Hardwich Medal – Cyril Hilsum
🏆 Gillian Skinner Award – Elandra Stafford-Williams
🏆 Amy Johnson Inspiration Award – Ayve Couloute (Girls into coding)
🏆 Best Newly Incorporated Engineer – Caroline Nicholls
🏆 Best Newly Registered Technician – Emily Cole
🏆 Men as Allies Award – Phillip Powner

It was an evening of inspiration, gratitude, and collective ambition which is exactly what Caroline Haslett would have championed. We look forward to building what comes next, together.
