Board Update: Help shape the future of WES
One of the greatest strengths of the Women's Engineering Society is the passion and expertise of our volunteers. From our Trustees to our Special Interest Groups, members play a vital role in shaping the direction of WES, influencing our programmes and ensuring we continue to meet the needs of women in engineering at every stage of their careers.
As we look ahead to the next year, there are a number of exciting opportunities to get involved.
Trustee Board recruitment coming soon
Later this summer, WES will begin recruiting for new members of our Trustee Board, including our next President. The Board is currently reviewing and updating the role descriptions to ensure they reflect the skills, experience and leadership needed to guide WES into the future. Recruitment will open towards the end of the summer, and we encourage members who are passionate about the future of engineering and WES to consider applying. Serving as a Trustee is a unique opportunity to influence the strategic direction of the Society, support our mission and help ensure WES continues to inspire, support and empower women in engineering.

Join our Apprentice Board
We're also recruiting new members for our Apprentice Board. The board is open to any members who are currently undertaking an engineering apprenticeship or who have completed one within the past two years. It provides a fantastic opportunity to ensure apprentices' voices are heard while helping shape WES activities and initiatives.
Current priorities include:
Developing the Apprentice Voice Survey.
Helping shape our future in-person Apprentice Day.
Influencing content for the WES Annual Conference.

Applications are also open to join the Student Board.
The Student Board represents the views of engineering students and helps ensure WES continues to provide meaningful support throughout university and into early careers.
Current projects include:
Shaping the Student Poster Competition.
Developing content for the Annual Conference.
Building stronger relationships with WES University Groups across the UK.
Whether you're passionate about networking, careers, outreach or supporting fellow students, joining the Student Board is an excellent way to develop your skills while making a real impact.
