Khadejah Begum works as a Technical Specialist for Minor Highway Works at Tfl, having joined the organisation as their first female in their apprenticeship scheme. Khadejah now mentors new apprentices, supporting them in the work place and through their academic studies. She is currently studying Law at Open University, and holds a HNC in Civil Engineering from City of Westminster College. Khadejah says "I joined WES because I think it provides a great platform for me to do three things: to promote diversity in engineering by breaking down barriers to engineering and changing perceptions of women in engineering, to engage in dialogue so women’s voices are brought to the table and heard and overall to broaden the opportunities for all women. Being part of the YMB is a chance for me to give something back and hopefully inspire!"
