The WES Student Conference takes place every year in November and is a two-day residential conference aimed primarily at female engineering and allied undergraduates. It supports young women to progress in engineering and allied sectors by providing access to employer perspectives, development opportunities and networking. It is an annual two-day event bringing together students, academics and early-mid career engineers and colleagues from supporting industry to explore pathways to technical leadership.
The Student Conference includes both technical and personal/professional development and opportunities to meet employers and sponsors. There are a large number of interactive sessions and also panels to include wider set of engineer speakers from a broad range of backgrounds.
The 2019 Conference will take place on 8 - 9 November at Warwick University. A link to the booking page will be published here shortly. If you would like to register your interest, please contact Joanne Weaver at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In 2018 the conference was also held at Warwick University for the first time and brought together 150 students. Sponsors included AWE, BAE Systems, BESA, Bosch, Dialog Semiconductor, Direct Line, FM Global, Meggitt Polymers & Composites, Network Rail and Warwick Manufacturing Group.
- Feedback from the 2017 conference was extremely positive
- In 2017 100% of the students who completed the survey enjoyed speaking with sponsors and wanted to have further contact post-conference
- 86% of last year’s students said that they were more inspired by the range of career options than before attending.
