Register of Women Engineers

Women's Engineering Society has compiled a list of women engineers who are prepared to speak at their local schools to encourage more girls into engineering, or who would be prepared to comment to the media or speak at conferences where a woman representative is sought.

To view the register, click here to open an excel spreadsheet

Please only contact the engineers individually, and avoid contacting all of the engineers listed in the register.  Note that in the email addresses the symbol '@' has been replaced with 'AT'.

** Please note that there has been a temporary suspension for new members joining the list.  If you would like to be considered when applications resume, please contact Cath Heslop at
Inspire the next generation of female engineers and join our register! If you would like to be part of this register, please fill in our online application form.

We will then add your name, occupation, location, contact email and short summary to the register. As part of Women in Engineering Day you may be contacted by your local school and invited to speak, but it's not necessary to wait for an invitation, why not contact them first and offer your services?

Other Ways to Find an Engineer To Invite
If there is nobody on the Register of Engineer that is suitable, other sources of inspirational engineering role models can be found through:

This initiative also links to the Conference Diversity Charter to encourage 50/50 male/female representation at engineering and technical conferences and events.

A note about locations

To make it easier to search for engineers local to you, we have indicated the area the engineer is based in using the following groupings:

Berkshire (i.e. Reading)
Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk
Herts and Beds
Merseyside and Wirral
Midlands (including Birmingham)
Northern Ireland and Eire
Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire

WES requests that you show courtesy to the engineers who have volunteered to be on this list by only emailing them about speaking at events and ensuring that the event is within reasonable distance of their given location.
