Lottie Tour

Every year the WES Young Members' Board (YMB) organises a 'Lottie Tour' as a way to capture the interest of a younger engineering audience by showing current engineers 'touring' with Lottie Dolls.

This year the fourth #WESLottieTour takes place during Tomorrow's Engineers Week 2019, to show how varied and exciting it is to work in engineering! Last year we had over 150 engineers involved taking photos of Lottie at work, but we’d love this number to grow even more this year! This year WES is celebrating its centenary, so we’re asking volunteers to use #WESLottieTour to show how much engineering has changed over the past 100 years with the theme ‘Then and Now’.

There is a new double-sided downloadable Lottie poster available to help children to learn about engineering. The links below allow you to download each side of the poster as a pdf.

Last year, Lottie Dolls produced bespoke PPE for WES including hard hats, high vis jackets, safety glasses and lab coats, so Lottie was ready to go on to a site or in to a lab, and we’ll be using this PPE again this year. WES Young Members Board are organising the tour and are keen for it grow even more this year. Lottie has already started her tour with WES volunteers in Dubai and in the UK.

Some of our volunteers have written blogs about their week with Lottie, click on the links below to read them.
