A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Sales Engineer to join the ABB Motion Service Business. You will be responsible for selling service products for variable speed drives and rotating machines and automation solutions. Being home based you will need to be self-motivated and be able to manage and plan your working weekly workload. To be considered for this role you must have proven sales experience, working to sales targets, business development and building on and developing existing customer relationships and potential opportunities.

Your responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains effective customer relationships to understand customer needs, promote customer understanding of full services offering, and align to provide a solution. Ensures a positive customer experience throughout the sales process.
  • Prepares sales plans using company tools. Performs regular status reviews and proposes recovery plan(s) in cases of potential order shortfalls.
  • Creates added value for the customer and ABB and ensures the successful outcome of transactions, contracts and proposals by using effective sales techniques. Communicates details in accordance with ABB offering and strategy (delivery time, payments, and general terms and conditions).
  • Prepares offers in coordination with the Tendering Manager. Ensures appropriate technical and financial aspects of offers, including prices and trading conditions.
  • Identifies and drives the development of new market opportunities in the designated market and ensures know-how sharing and cross-collaboration.
  • Actively promoting ABB’s service products and solutions in marketing activities such as events and trade shows while monitoring trends to develop effective marketing activities
  • Manages administrative procedures in sales processes, and supports collection and project management activities when needed.

Your background

  • Technical education preferred electrical, mechanics and mechanical engineering, automation
  • Experienced professional with knowledge of sales and customer service best practices
  • Product and market knowledge of Motion systems (Drives & Motors)
  • Fluent in English
  • Teamwork and customer-oriented profile with strong communication skills
  • Willing to travel frequently for customer visits or site surveys
  • Proactivity
  • Strong time management / prioritization skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
