Join Edinburgh Napier University School of Engineering and the Built Environment
Professor/Chair in Engineering
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding applicant at the professorial level to help lead and shape the future of our School.
The School of Engineering & the Built Environment (SEBE) offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes that are widely recognised for their academic quality, innovation and close ties to the industries in which our graduates work. The School has won the Queen’s Anniversary Prize twice in recent years for its work on sustainable timber construction. We aim to ensure that we equip our graduates with the skills necessary to succeed in the workplace upon graduation and throughout their professional careers. All of our programmes are accredited by the relevant professional body, including the IET, RICS and JBM.
The School supports a wide range of engineering and built environment teaching and research specialisms and we are exploring expansion into new areas. From automation and robotics, energy and renewables to advanced materials, manufacturing and product design engineering our work has gained national and international recognition and directly influences our teaching programmes. Following the appointment of a new Dean, we are currently undertaking a review of all of our activities so now is a great time to join and help shape the future and shape of our School.
If you are a professional, inclusive, innovative and ambitious individual with a proven track record in research and/or pedagogical excellence, who wants to bring leadership and direction to our community we would be delighted to hear from you. We would welcome receiving applications from any engineering or built environment discipline, as our priority is to appoint the strongest candidate irrespective of specialism. Those with track records in pedagogical innovation or research in engineering or built environment disciplines are especially encouraged to apply.
