The Faculty of Science and Engineering is seeking to appoint a motivated individual to enhance our research and learning and teaching within Electronic and Electrical Engineering. We are seeking applicants with strong research track potential/record, as well as experience of innovative teaching methods, who care about the student experience; and who can contribute to the development of a modern curriculum supported by lab-based practical and project-based learning.

In recent years, the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering has developed world leading research in sensor technologies, semiconductor devices, nanotechnology, micro- and nano-electromechanical systems, as well as power, communication and antenna systems. The appointed postholder’s primary focus will be on research excellence expecting to result in world-leading publications, attract competitive funding and generate impact in the real world. We especially welcome high-quality applicants with expertise in (but we are not limited to) analogue and digital integrated circuits and systems, for applications in multiple areas mentioned above. It is expected that the successful applicant will develop synergy with existing areas of expertise within the Department. The appointed postholder will be embedded into a vibrant and dynamic environment with the capacity to interact with other research groups across the Faculty of Science and Engineering. We welcome applicants with the capacity to contribute to teaching in key areas, such as circuit design, power electronics and electrical and power systems. As all our courses are research-led and practice-driven, the successful applicant should be able to bring their background into their teaching to enhance our students’ experience.
