Graduate Development Programme (Engineering) - To Start March 2022

Programmes available in: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, and Controls and Instrumentation

£27,000 per annum + company car, pension, healthcare and other additional benefits.

Calor Gas Ltd is looking for motivated, committed graduates to join our Spring 2022 Graduate Development Scheme. We’re offering a development programme that will give you real responsibility, autonomy, visibility, and the opportunity to further yourself and your career. All whilst providing you with the tools to increase your business acumen, build a strong professional brand and develop your Engineering career path in a niche industry. By the end of the programme it is also envisaged that you will have acquired sufficient experience and exposure to apply for your Engineering Chartership.

The programme…

We will be looking for Graduates to join our programme in either Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation or Controls and Instrumentation.

The programme is designed to equip you with the business skills you will need throughout your career alongside giving you early operational experience in the Engineering field. You will develop thorough experience across 4 years including  a 4 week induction followed by  four further 1 year placements covering varying aspects of the organisation, including front line operational roles and project work, all of which will be relevant to the Engineering discipline you will be specialising in. You will undertake business skills training and development with the support of a dedicated Programme Mentor and Placement Manager. By then end of the programme it is envisaged that you will not only have developed the skills and experience required to have a successful career within the business, but you will also have gained sufficient experience and exposure to apply for your Engineering Chartership.

The programme will afford you an exceptional vantage point to understand the structure and culture of our business, and provide you with an opportunity to develop a wide spectrum of skills in an accelerated time. 

What we’re looking for…

We are seeking graduates who have a sound level of business acumen, are self-starters, ambitious and motivated. You should be someone who enjoys working in a visible position, thrive in a changing and fast-pace environment and love a challenge!

In order to be considered for the graduate development programme, you must:

  • Have obtained a 2.2 degree or above in a related Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Automation or Controls & Instrumentation)
  • Preferably have obtained or be working towards a Masters qualification in Engineering
  • Have a keen interest in and be passionate about developing a career in Engineering
  • Ideally have post degree professional work experience
  • Have a full, clean UK driving license
  • Demonstrate behaviours that reflect our core values; loyalty, integrity, delivery and innovation
  • Demonstrate capabilities that match our core competency framework
  • Be flexible in regards to relocation (placements could be anywhere in the UK and possibly further away)

All candidates will be assessed in a fair and consistent manner through the following means:-

  • Application screening
  • SHL Online Verbal and Numerical ability tests
  • Telephone screening
  • Assessment centre (1 day at our head office at Tachbrook Park, Warwick.) to be held w/c 10th January 2022.

Please note Assessment Centres will require an interview, presentation, group exercise and Individual exercise, all of which need to be completed.
