The Engineering Council is the UK regulatory body for the engineering profession which sets and maintains the internationally recognised standards of professional competence and ethics, and we have an exciting opportunity for a brand-new role within the organisation.
The Engineering & Society Manager will be pivotal in implementing our 2025 Strategy, in particular those aims that fall under two of our four main strategic themes: Engineering & Society and Diversity & Inclusion. These important aims will support our delivery of a more diverse and inclusive profession with sustainability and ethical principles at its core.
Reporting to the Operations Director, the post holder will also work with other colleagues and senior external stakeholders to manage the delivery of these aims. This includes, but is not limited to, the EngC’s work in areas of societal interest including climate change, Net Zero, ethics and sustainability.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of at least one and ideally more of either ethics, sustainability, or ED&I matters and a keen interest in all.
You will need to be comfortable communicating with people at all levels within and external to the Engineering Council, both face-to-face and virtually, and to travel as needed.
