We now have a fantastic opportunity for an Engineering Manager to join the leadership team at Burton Brewery, our largest, and most advanced brewery in Europe.
In this leadership role, you’ll be responsible for the entire engineering department in addition to working as part of the site leadership team setting, evolving and developing the strategic direction of this world class manufacturing facility.
You’ll be accountable for safely optimising efficiency in all areas of engineering, utilising our advanced manufacturing processes which contribute to world class standards of operation and asset.
You’ll lead innovation projects and transformational change combining technology and people processes to improve responsiveness, adaptability and performance.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring that all health, safety and environment, quality, cost and reliability standards are met and driving conformance to regulatory and accreditation standards.
You’ll own the maintenance and improvement processes around quality and reliability of Burton Brewery assets.
You’ll develop and manage engineering strategy to meet or exceed annual plans, develop and execute budgetary and capital plans, review existing equipment capacity and people resource aligned to our strategy.
As part of an integrated brewery leadership team, you’ll develop objectives and priorities and lead the change management processes for the department building effective relationships across the manufacturing network.
We’re keen to hear from experienced engineering managers who have led engineering functions within large, complex and automated manufacturing facilities. Previous experience in a similar role, such as within FMCG, beverages, automotive, pharma or consumer goods would be preferred.
This is a unique and challenging role, so you’ll need the technical expertise in Engineering so Chartered Engineer status or higher national / degree level qualifications in engineering would be ideal. In addition, we need outstanding leadership capabilities with a demonstrable career history in leading, motivating and developing people and high performing teams. Our teams are at the heart of everything we do.
It would be beneficial if you have the change management experience and expertise of a lean manufacturing (or similar) journey and implementation. Alternatively, the evolution of these processes or experience in world class manufacturing practices and methodologies. On top of this, expertise in capital investment projects and manufacturing cost management would be preferred.
