If this sounds like you, then our 2-year Repair Team Leader Apprenticeship is right up your street!

Once qualified, you’ll be responsible for leading a two-person Repair Team. Responding to gas escapes, your day to day responsibilities will include working on deep excavations up to 2.5m and isolating gas mains. You'll also complete services to repair and make safe, ensuring cable avoidance plus much more. Meeting different people every day and working in lots of different locations, no two days will be the same!

Working as an Apprentice in our Emergency Response team, over the 2-year programme you’ll see first-hand what it’s like to keep the nation safe. You’ll train alongside our team of experts to become a first responder, attending gas escapes across our network.

Once fully trained, you’ll be the first person on-site. Attending customers’ homes whilst responding to reported gas escapes or carbon monoxide activated alarms. It’s no small feat as you can imagine, so you won’t be afraid of working independently, with support on hand if needed. Your cool under pressure methodical approach and sharp decision-making skills will ensure you find the right solution to keep our customers delighted.

From day one of your 3-year programme, you’ll make an impact on millions of people without them even knowing it. Monitoring and maintaining pressures and controls throughout our gas network, helping to keep the gas flowing safely and reliably to all our customers.

Once qualified as a Lead Engineer in PC&S you’ll operate and maintain mechanical valves, carry out routine maintenance and complete fault finding and rectification on a wide range of assets and equipment used in our networks. You’ll work on gas pressure control equipment, valves, gas conditioning and other mechanical systems and equipment.
