Over the 24-month programme, you’ll develop leadership skills, gain technical exposure and understanding, and experience professional development, through a combination of theoretical learning and on the job experience. You’ll study towards achieving a HNC in Mechanical Engineering at Solihull college, covering topics such as Engineering Design, Mechanical Principles and managing an Engineering Project.
You’ll be supported every step of the way by a dedicated programme manager, business mentor and line manager. Our community of trainees also provide the perfect support network, pulling from their personal experience they’ll provide guidance and assistance and you’ll inspire each other from the very start.
About The Role
We are looking for an Engineer who is passionate about sustainability to be part of a multidisciplinary team designing and delivering outstanding walking and cycling infrastructure.
Your role will see you developing and improving the National Cycle Network and Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plans through our “Paths for Everyone” and “Liveable Towns and Cities” programmes as we seek to develop and upgrade high quality traffic free routes and work with local communities to encourage greater active travel.

This will be a key role within CPC’s New Mobility Technology directorate, with an expectation to focus significantly on leading project activities in Clean Mobility and helping support the UK and its transport supply chain transition to zero emission mobility. This role will require a combination of leading technical work and supporting thought-leadership within CPC in developing the strategy and project portfolio for Clean mobility, which could span different transport modes including road, rail, and water-borne applications.
