2019 is a key milestone year for both Siemens and WES. Join us as we hold a joint celebratory event to mark the WES centenary year and 130 years since the Siemens C.A Parsons factory was established. Our guest speaker will be Meshi Taka, Equality and Diversity representative on the North East Institute of Civil Engineers committee. You will also hear from speakers charting the history of WES and Siemens and looking forward to the future of engineering. There will be ample opportunity for networking.
This conference will explore not only the significance of the 1919 Sex Disqualification (Removal) Act in Britain, but also the ‘professional woman’ in all periods, nations and forms.
Taking place at the LSE, the event also features a presentation on the WES Centenary Trail on 6 September.
Brought to you in association with Equate Scotland in celebration of WES’s centenary, this two day event will take place at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, and feature speakers looking at STEM women in the past as well as current practice and the impact future technologies will have. For further information, please contact INWES.
