To celebrate INWED 2019, WESBath are inviting the South West’s engineers to a networking event with the theme of Transforming the Future!
The event aim is to bring together engineers from industry and academia to share how their work is contributing to the transformation of the future. This will include a video presentation from the University of Bath, three keynote speakers and a chance to network.
Engineers create solutions for the whole of the community yet we know there is not only a lack of diversity within the workplace, but how difficult it can be personally to empathise with how someone else uses technology. Whether this is a teenager not understanding why their parents can't use Twitter, or designing a building without wheelchair accessibility. These issues are rarely deliberate exclusion but inclusion has to become a fundamental part of design. Find out how you can become a more inclusive designer and a more effective engineer by attending this lecture.
Travel demand management (TDM) tools and techniques have progressed over the last few decades to include new policies, technologies, vehicle and fuel types. Other soft measures have also been introduced such as raising awareness and education policies. The aim of TDM is to improve the efficiency of the transportation system and promote further use of more efficient and smarter modes of transportation. The Public transportation system and ITS are at the heart of that aim.
