A Woman’s Place…? Women's Careers in Science: Sharing best practice between academia and industry

The Physics and Engineering departments at Lancaster University invite you to an event which will be held at Lancaster University on Wednesday 12 November 2014 and is entitled "A Woman’s Place…? Women's Careers in Science: Sharing best practice between academia and industry". The aim of the event is to promote women's careers in science, in both industrial and academic settings, as women are still vastly underrepresented in science.

Headstart Inspire Courses for Year 11/Scottish S4 Girls!

Venue: BT labs at Adastral Park, Ipswich
Interactive and inspiriational courses to introduce year 11/S4 girls to STEM and learn about the vital role engineers play in the modern world.  Valuable preparation for STEM A-levels.  Places are limited.  E-mail info@headstartcourses.org.uk for an application form to be returned no later than Friday 18th February 2011.

Technical Leaders Events 2008

Venue:  The IET, Savoy Place, London

The second in the Technical Leaders series. The Chair for the evening was Mary Harris, previous WES President and currently Director of the National Grid’s Young Offenders Programme. Speaker was Mandy Chessell, IBM Distinguished Engineer, Master Inventor and member of the IBM Academy of Technology. Currently lead architect for Master Data Solutions in IBM’s Software Group, who spoke on ‘Model Driven Development’.
