Explore the exciting reality of engineering in heritage regeneration at Wentworth Woodhouse - 'the UK's largest restoration project'.  Meet some of the inspirational women working on the project and hear about the day to day activities their incredible jobs entail, then have a private tour around the site and rooftops. 8.45am for a 9am start. The event finishes at 12:15 FREE

How did the brevity of the telegram influenced Hemingway's writing style? How did a young chemist expose the use of Polaroid's cameras to create passbooks to track black citizens in apartheid South Africa?

This talk showcases little-known inventors, particularly people of colour and women, who had a significant impact but whose accomplishments have been hidden by mythmaking, bias, and convention.

Women in STEM Careers 2020

Women in STEM Careers 2020, a new event from jobs.ac.uk, offers a full and exciting programme for women who are interested in exploring research opportunities within publicly funded organisations and charities.

Designed for final year undergraduate and postgraduate STEM students looking to kick-start their career or professionals simply wishing to progress from their current STEM position, the day will provide something for everyone. Along with unique networking opportunities with employers and peers, there will also be presentations from sector experts and a CV workshop.
