Sophie is a Capability Engineer for Airborne Communications and Identification at Leonardo. In her role she defines future Communications and Identification products, ensuring there is a technology roadmap to back up the strategy. She also manages low technology readiness level applied research projects, working with a number of universities to mature ideas. Sophie has a Masters Degree in Physics from Durham University and previously worked as an Antenna Engineer at Leonardo before her current role.
Sophie is an active STEM ambassador and member of Women’s Engineering Society where she chairs the Younger Members Board. She is passionate about promoting careers in STEM to future generations.
