Vince Pizzoni Biography-Award winning General Manager/Professor in Chemical and Environmental Engineering/Executive Search Consultant/Career Coach and Mentor/Non-Executive Director/Trustee

Vince has a portfolio career in international business, academia, executive search and career coaching and business mentoring. With an engineering background his career spans the whole career lifecycle from school to university, executive and board level, and he has made it his mission in life to inspire, motivate and mentor future generations into STEM careers of whom many are women.

He has over 30 years’ global business experience starting as a process engineer and incorporating executive management and  board positions in blue chip companies including ExxonMobil, Suez, V. Ships, Nalco and P&G. He has led teams in over 60 countries and won the prestigious Chairman’s Award at Suez as the highest performing global General Manager when successfully leading Nalco’s Energy Chemicals team in the Europe, Africa, Middle East and Former Soviet Union region.

As Head of Professional Guidance at Cheltenham Ladies’ College he directly influenced the careers of several thousand pupils many of whom chose engineering careers and now mentors a number of those individuals through their early careers.

Today he is able to combine a career as Professor in Chemical and Environmental Engineering coaching students in employability, consultant in a boutique energy executive search firm, and career coach to students at prestigious UK business schools including London, Cambridge Judge, Imperial, Oxford Said and Chicago Booth. He also privately mentors dozens of individuals across several business sectors, many of whom are women in the energy sector.

As keynote speaker and advocate for promoting women within engineering, he is equally at home delivering a speech to female oil and gas executives on gender equality, motivating female students at a University Technical College in Brixton to pursue engineering careers, to coaching a Syrian refugee inspiring her to aim high and study engineering at a top university. Vince is academic tutor to the WES group at Nottingham University and has published several articles on many relevant subjects including Networking (The Woman Engineer, autumn 2020).

Vince is a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the IChemE, Fellow of the CMI, Member of the Energy Institute, Member of the SPE and Associate Fellow of WES. Additionally he is Trustee/Non-Executive Director and Audit Committee member of the TrustEd Multi Academy Schools Trust for Bridgnorth Schools in Shropshire, and for MyBigCareer, an educational charity providing career advice and guidance to school students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Vince is also on the board of Focus, a non-profit organization and unique community providing support to expatriates and their spouses in the UK.  

Vince is married to Fiona who is a retired dental surgeon and has 2 children, Madeline, a helicopter pilot in the Army Air Corps and Alexander, a Finance Officer in a Charity supporting International Development.

In his spare time Vince enjoys all sports, particularly weight training, reading books about Ancient History, listening to music by Phil Collins and watching Star Trek!
