Victoria Barbour-Smith

She graduated from The University of Cambridge in 2016 with an MEng. At Arup Victoria has worked on a wide range of projects at different stages of design, from concept to detailed design. Her proudest moment in her career so far was when Meridian Water Station opened to the public in June 2019, having been heavily involved in the detailed design of the station.

From September 2018 – September 2019 Victoria was seconded to Taylor Woodrow, working as a Section Engineer on the offline construction of the new Monkey Island Bridge for the M4 Smart Motorway Upgrade project. She is now based in Arup’s Leeds office.

In addition to being on WES' Early Careers Board, Victoria is also a STEM Ambassador and a mentor with the Social Mobility Foundation and Target Oxbridge. She is also a volunteer interviewer with Oxfizz.

Victoria achieved her chartership to become a Chartered Civil Engineer in 2020.
