University of Sussex

The University of Sussex is a research-active university with an excellent international reputation, based in the cosmopolitan seaside city of Brighton & Hove. We welcome spirited students who want to study in a creative and intellectually challenging environment. At Sussex you will be encouraged to open your mind, deepen your thinking, and make your mark on the world.

Develop your technical skills, enhance your learning potential and prepare for a range of exciting careers with our Undergraduate or Masters courses in Engineering specialisms ranging from Mechanical, Automotive to Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Robotics.

At Sussex we are dedicated to supporting and encouraging under-represented groups to embark on rewarding careers in Engineering. That’s why we support the excellent work of the Women’s Engineering Society, as well as undertaking a number of initiatives that ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment for all our students:

We support our very own chapter of Robogals Sussex to deliver workshops with local school children, we support our Equality in Engineering student society which represents and advocates for BAME and non-male students, and this year we are launching the Gillian Pearce Prize in Engineering, Design and Informatics. This prize is named after the first woman Engineering graduate from Sussex.

Sussex supports women to excel in their engineering careers, because diverse engineering teams create better engineering solutions.
