Fiona is an award-winning marketer with a background in international programme development across Asia Pacific and EMEA for the tech sector. During her maternal career break, Fiona initially volunteered and then worked part-time at an all-girls school. Fiona led the school’s rapid cultural transformation into a leading school for science and engineering, as noted by the Good School Guide. The uptake of Physics rose from 43 percent to 87 percent within three years. The programme actively engaged pupils from 3 to 18 years, dispelling stereotypes before they had the opportunity to form. The initiatives extended to local and international schools. Teenagers were supported in their development as role models for their peers and younger students, with one pupil receiving a Queen’s Honour. The Head described Fiona’s support as ‘truly life changing’. Fiona was subsequently invited to join the TeenTech board as a non-executive director.
Fiona recently completed her MSc in Organizational Psychology, driven by her determination to explore the challenges of the sector. She is currently volunteering at an all-girls school in an area of social deprivation. The Principal described her as a ‘human dynamo’ and her work as ‘transformational’. Fiona also supports the Tech Talent Charter in their mission to address the talent shortfall. Fiona was awarded the WES 2020 Amy Johnson Inspiration Award, for her exceptional work in inspiring the next generation.
