The Doris Gray Awards are now closed
The purpose of the Doris Gray Bursary was to sponsor students to attend WES conferences. In 2008 a decision was made to use the bursary to run a Doris Gray conference to promote the Doris Gray awards, WES and engineering for females. In 2009 the bursary funded a Young Woman Engineer of the Year Award and in 2012 the award provided memberships for students.
In total bursaries of £25,939 were awarded
ERASMUS Year Abroad
2013-2014 £500 award for a years study in Munich
2014-2015 £979 funded 2 females to present at international conferences
2012-2013 £1,000 funded 4 attendees at the WES student conference
2011-2012 £1,000 funded 4 attendees at the WES conference
2010-2011 £1,000 funded 4 attendees at the Doris Gray conference
2009-2010 £266 funded 1 attendee at the WES conference
2006-2007 £645 funded 10 attendees at the WES conference
2012-2013 £1,000 provided memberships to WES for the students who attended the WES student conference
Young Woman Engineer of the Year Award
2009 a new category was added to the Young Women Engineer of the Year
Award: Outstanding Scottish Entrant. The prize was funded by the Doris
Gray bursary and was given to Elaine Hislop. More details are available

Doris Gray Conferences
Our 7th student conference will take place in Aston University, Birmingham on the 19th and 20th November 2015. For more details see Student Conference 2015 web page.

Doris Gray conference in Edinburgh on the 14th and 15th November 2009. Students were asked to pay a nominal fee of £40, the additional costs were funded by the Doris Gray Award. Report is in the January 2010 enewsletter.
