Lizzie Barr (Chair)
Lizzie is a 3rd year Aerospace Engineering Degree Apprentice, after joining BAE Systems straight from sixth form at the age of 18.
So far on her apprenticeship, she has gained experience across a range of aircraft and business areas, including going on secondment to Hampshire in order to work on Prismatic Ltd.’s PHASA-35 Solar High Altitude Long Endurance Vehicle. Lizzie is now working in International Capability and Assurance, prior to moving to her selected final placement in Aircrew Training and Simulation.
She has achieved a distinction in her Foundation Degree in Aerospace Engineering, and is looking forwards to starting studying for her dissertation and bachelor’s degree.
Outside of work, Lizzie is a Cadet Forces Adult Volunteer with the RAF Air Cadets, and enjoys teaching young people on topics including airmanship and cybersecurity. She is also a STEM Ambassador, and works hard to attend as many events as possible to promote Engineering and STEM to young people across Lancashire.
