Through support from Cirrus Logic, a WES Hardship Fund will be available to provide financial assistance for 2 students in financial hardship. The funds provide financial support to current female engineering (or allied sector) undergraduates who have met unforeseen financial hardship during their studies, aiming to provide assistance to these students experiencing difficulty meeting their living costs These funds can make a difference, allowing these students on low incomes to refocus on their studies and successfully graduate in engineering (or allied sectors). Applications for this fund are now open until 7 January 2018.
Students must meet all of the eligibility criteria below:
- Students must be female and enrolled full-time or part-time students (at least 50% of a full-time equivalent course) on an HE course in the UK;
- Students must apply for all eligible sources of funding before applying for these Hardship Funds including means-tested maintenance loans and grants and Council Tax Reduction;
- Students must not have any outstanding tuition fees due to their HE institution when making their application to these funds. No financial support can be provided towards payment of tuition fees under any circumstances.
- Students must be Student Supports of WES, a free WES membership grade, or a Student Member (£10 per year). Information about being a member of WES and how to apply can be found here.
