WES annual conference 2011 student place bursary

We are delighted to announce that Jaguar Land Rover will be sponsoring 12 students under the Student Bursary Programme at this year’s WES Annual Conference Getting There on Friday 7th October.

Students will receive their full conference fee and a proportional contribution towards their travel costs refundable at the conference.

Working with the IET and WTS, Getting There includes an inspiring technical, yet accessible programme along with professional development enhancing workshops. This year’s event, Getting There, will focus on road and rail transportation and provide an important industry platform for discussing the latest issues and trends in road and rail. It will also discuss and highlight other areas such as current and future policy drivers, technological developments, sustainability initiatives and engineering innovations. Delegates will have the chance to meet and inspire others, share best practice and showcase women at their best.

Full conference details can be obtained from the WES website at http://conference.wes.org.uk/getting-there

Terms and conditions

The bursary programme is administered by the conference committee chair in dialogue with nominated committee members.

1. Successful applicants will be asked to write a short article for the WES journal about one of the talks they attended. You will receive a by-line for this.

2. This bursary covers the full conference cost and a contribution towards travel and/or accommodation. We have found in the past that bursaries have been accepted and then not taken up if recipients have shown no personal financial commitment. You therefore need to register online and pay £25 registration fee.

3. Cheques for bursaries will be handed to recipients on registration at conference along with a letter of confirmation.
