WES AGM 2010 Announced
Tuesday 13th July 2010

The WES AGM will take place at Aston University on Saturday 18 September at 10:30am. Your presence will be very welcome to share the success of the last year and plans for the future. The event is part of the British Science Festival.

Council positions will be vacated as office holders reach the end of their term. We are also currently planning to expand the Council to have greater industry sectoral representation. The call for nominations is now open and in particular applications and nominations for regional coordinators, student group representatives, professional body representatives and honorary secretary will become vacant.

Joining Council offers you the opportunity for connecting and networking with women from different career areas and in some cases in senior positions. To find out about managing meetings, organising events, practising your public speaking and developing your project management skills. This all adds up to great material to make your CV stand out from the crowd as current WES President Jan Peters says:

"I am sure if I hadn't been involved in WES and on the Editorial Board for the journal that as a young post grad student I would never have been selected for one of the British Science Association's presitgious Media Fellow Awards"
