Job description

Applications are invited for two posts of Senior Lecturer in Engineering. These posts provides an opportunity for two outstanding candidates, who are fully engaged with the Faculty’s vision for its new undergraduate Engineering programmes, to contribute to the design of the programme portfolio for launch in September 2019. The successful applicants will also provide teaching for our current undergraduate programmes. We aim to develop an innovative ‘project-based’ pedagogy which will be integrated throughout the degree programmes, with team-working, leadership and entrepreneurship as core aspects to prepare our students for careers in industry. It is essential that applicants have the enthusiasm and commitment required to ensure the success of these programmes and contribute to their development.

Applicants must have a PhD, experience of teaching, an excellent publication record, and a track-record of research funding appropriate to their specific research profile and interests. Research collaboration across research groups and with other departments in the Faculty and across King’s is strongly encouraged. Duties will be assigned under the direction of the Head of Department, and will include research, teaching, examining, administration, and other duties. The Department already has a strong academic presence in the broad areas of Telecommunications and Robotics and a funding portfolio which includes grants from EPSRC and the EU. We seek to strengthen our presence in these areas with this appointment, though the successful candidate may undertake research and teaching in any area of engineering which complements existing research in the Department, or more widely at King’s.

The selection process will include a presentation and a panel interview. Interviews will take place on Friday 28th April.
