Database of Technician Qualifications and Programmes
The Engineering Council has developed a public database of approved qualifications and programmes which contribute to Engineering Technician (EngTech) or ICT Technician (ICTTech) professional registration.
The database ,on the Engineering Council’s website, can be used to search for apprenticeships, other employer schemes, NVQs/SVQs or vocational qualifications. Providers and employers who are aligned with particular qualifications and schemes can also be identified. In addition, most records contain a link to further detail in the Ofqual Register of Regulated Qualifications, or to the SQA Subject and Qualification finder website.
This database complements the already well established database of accredited courses leading to qualifications that partially or fully satisfy the education requirements of Incorporated Engineer (IEng) and Chartered Engineer (CEng) registration.
To apply for the EngTech, ICTTech, IEng or CEng titles an individual must be a member of one of the 36 engineering institutions and societies currently licensed by the Engineering Council to assess candidates. Applicants must demonstrate that they possess a range of technical and personal competences and are also committed to keeping these up-to-date, and to behaving in a professionally and socially responsible manner.
