Firstco Director Cecile Searle leads the way for female Engineers within Firstco.
Newly appointed Firstco Director, Cecile Searle is leading the way for female Engineers within Firstco, and joining WES is just the beginning. Cecile, 38, has been with the company for almost 10 years and is an excellent example of how women in engineering can rise through the ranks. Firstco currently employ 6 female engineers, and this number continues to rise each year. Firstco are also hosting an all-female table at the Institution of Engineering and Technology’s annual dinner, in February 2016, which will see members come together to celebrate the engineering accomplishments of the last year.
The Women's Engineering Society is a charity and a professional network of women engineers, scientists and technologists offering inspiration, support and professional development. Working in partnership, they campaign to encourage women to participate and achieve as engineers, scientists and as leaders.
Firstco consist of consultants, who design, build and integrate control and communication systems which bring infrastructure to life. This includes airfields, terminals, stations, roads, ports, trams and all other building types. They design to high safety integrity levels for tunnel ventilation, high voltage switch-gear and traction power. They also offer in-building and underground radio and telephone networks and secure data transmission networks, as well as public-facing systems such as CCTV, information displays and public address. They integrate all of these systems into cyber-secure network environments that are safe from outside attack. Working across several sectors allows them to identify and perfect transferable best-practice technical solutions. Firstco’s goal is to solve similar challenges with similar proven solutions, regardless of sector.
