Professor Doris Gray kindly left a sum of money to the Women’s Engineering Society to encourage women in Scotland to become professional engineers. Part of this sum of money is allocated to provide £1,000 per year Doris Gray scholarships for women studying in Scotland.

Eligibility

The Doris Gray scholarships are open to females:

1. Who intend to study or are studying an HND, Degree or PhD in Scotland.
2. Who have financial difficulties beyond the normal circumstances
3. Intend to work as an engineer in the Scotland / UK after completion of their course

How to Apply

Applications should be made using the Doris Gray Scholarship Application Form which can be downloaded below.

Applications can be submitted at any time, but ideally before the beginning of the academic year in which you expect to study. Please be aware that processing may take several weeks. Please ensure references are included. If your application is successful, we will also require a letter / email from your university, confirming you have registered / enrolled for the relevant year of study before we can send you the money.
