Pat has been editor of The Women Engineer since 2002.
Pat studied physics at university and then went into technical publishing, working first on books and then a variety of engineering magazines.
From 1977-87 she ran the Publications Department at the Plastics and Rubber Institute. In 1987 she joined the trade union Engineers' & Managers' Association (EMA) to run their Publications Department and edit the magazine. When the EMA merged with the Institution of Professionals, Managers and Specialists in 2001 to form Prospect, she became deputy head of Communications for Prospect. She left Prospect in 2004 and now works part-time as a freelance journalist/editor and counsellor.
